Patricia L. Bay, Psy.D. is a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist with a private practice in Redding, California. Since 1979 she has loved working with children, adolescents, adults, families and relationships in Shasta, Tehama, Butte, Trinity and Siskiyou Counties, and surrounding areas of northern California. Prior to private practice, she worked for Child Protective Services doing sexual abuse investigation and is considered an expert witness in court proceedings. Patricia enjoys conducting trainings and workshops to pass onto others what she has learned.
Married in 1980, Patricia and her husband, Richard, had two daughters and an amazing granddaughter. In 2008, Richard became ill with the terminal brain disease Frontotemporal Degeneration - Behavioral Variant Type (bvFTD). He passed away in January 2016 after battling this horrid illness for eight years. Both Patricia and Richard were committed to educating others about FTD. Richard used to quip "FTD is not a floral delivery." He was also a believer of the right to choose your own "Death With Dignity" and offered his support in bringing this benefit to the State of California. Patricia continues the quest to educate others, especially mental health professionals, in identifying and understanding Frontotemporal Degeneration.
